City of Glenwood Green Energy Time Line
January 1, 2000, the City contracted with Public Service Company of Colorado
for the purchase of the energy generated by one of the 750 kilowatt generators
at their Ponnequin Wind Farm in northeast Colorado.
January 1, 2003, the City ended its contract with Public Service Company of
Colorado and replaced it with the energy generated by one of the seven 1,500
kilowatt generators in Kimball, Nebraska. The Kimball project was built by
MEAN, the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska, which supplies the bulk of the
City electrical energy.
Effective march 1, 2006 the City essentially doubled its wind-generated energy
purchase from MEAN
